Chapter 9
Felicity’s POV
Xander stood still, then turned to face me. He seemed about to say something when suddenly his
beta rushed in and said something to him.
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
After a while, he said, “Something happened to the pack. I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to take you
home. My Beta will give you a ride instead.”
I nodded and watched him leave.
Under the guidance of his beta, I returned home. After a quick dinner, I went to bed and fell asleep.
The incident seemed to have acted as a warning for Xander, as he became more cautious in the
following days, closely watching our every move to prevent another mishap.
The ski activities wrapped up without any further incidents.
As we were parting ways with everyone, Xander suddenly called me over.
“If you want to join more skiing in the future, feel free to reach out to me. I can arrange it for you.”
To my surprise, despite his cold demeanor, Xander was actually willing to personally invite others
to join pack activities.
I nodded and exchanged numbers with him.
As I was about to leave, Xander called me again.
“Are you free this weekend? I’d like to invite you to dinner.”
His invitation caught me off guard. I hadn’t expected Xander to be the one to ask.
I thought of rejecting, but when I saw Dorian walking toward me from the distance, I changed my
mind.
“Sure, send me the address, and I’ll be there,” I said.
A glimmer of joy flashed in Xander’s eyes as he nodded and walked away.
Just as he left, Dorian stepped in front of me, blocking my path.
“Who was that man? Why did you agree to have dinner with him?”

I thought Dorian would leave after that day, but to my surprise, he had been waiting around for me
to return.
Seeing me talking to Xander, his possessiveness flared up. He stormed toward me, coldly demanding an explanation.
I frowned and replied, “This has nothing to do with you.”
“It does,” he snapped. “We haven’t broken the mate bond yet, and I won’t allow you to interact with
other men.”
For the first time, Dorian raised his voice at me. His eyes were bloodshot, as though he could
devour me at any moment.
Startled, I instinctively took a step back.
Realizing his outburst, Dorian quickly calmed himself, apologizing, “I’m sorry. I got carried away, but I can’t accept you seeing other men.”
He then handed me a report, explaining, “This is a report from Golden Medical Institute. Your uterus did have cancer. I wasn’t lying to you; the surgery was necessary because of that. As for Rosalie’s child, I only wanted her to give birth to make up for your inability to have children.”
I glanced at the report that had the official stamp, confirming the findings.
I hadn’t expected it, but it seemed Dorian hadn’t lied to me after all. My uterus really had cancer.
“Felicity, you’re the one I love most. I could never hurt you,” Dorian continued, his voice full of sincerity. “As for Rosalie, it was a mistake. I’m done with her. I’ll never let her interfere in our life again. Please come back. I can’t live without you.”
He reached out to take my hand, but I immediately pulled it away and stepped back.
“You’ve heard the saying, ‘Once betrayed, never again.‘ Since you’ve betrayed me, I will never
forgive you. You can sign the bond–breaking agreement if you want. If not, that’s fine too, but I’ve
already severed the mate bond of my side. Don’t disturb my life anymore.”
Dorian, however, didn’t seem to understand. He shook his head, “No, I can’t let you go. We’ve been together for so many years. Don’t you cherish those beautiful memories?”
“You once said you’d love only me for this life. Why would you leave me?”
Seeing Dorian wounded, I felt nothing. Without hesitation, I handed him over to the werewolf
police.

I then sent Rosalie a message, asking her to keep Dorian in check.
After that, Dorian didn’t show up again.
During this time, Xander continued to invite me out, and although his feelings were subtle, I could
tell what he meant.
I made it clear that I had just come out of a long relationship and wasn’t ready for a new one.
Xander, however, didn’t give up. He said he could wait, beacuse he had already waited for ten years.
It was then that I learned Xander and I had met before.
When I had just come of age and earned some money, I had taken a ski class,
That was when I met Xander. He had been under great pressure because he was about to become the future Alpha of his pack, and he came to the ski resort to unwind. But in his haste, he had fallen and injured his leg in an unmonitored area.
I had been the one to spot him and called for help, getting him saved just in time.
After that, I hadn’t seen him again. He said he had been searching for me to thank me in person, but it was as though I had disappeared.
When I became Dorian’s Luna, Xander heard about me through a messenger wolf but chose not to interfere in my life.
After hearing his story, I was surprised to discover this remarkable connection between us.
Rather than withdrawing when I turned him down, Xander chose to stay. He became my companion in extreme sports, a keeper of shared memories, until he quietly grew into one of life’s most important souls.
Two years later, I heard news about Dorian again. It seemed that after the wolf police had arrested
him, Rosalie had come to bail him out.
They had an argument, and in a fit of rage, Dorian pushed Rosalie. That push caused her to lose the baby.
Losing both love and child drove Rosalie over the edge. In her madness, she dosed him with wolfbane and plowed her car into Dorian, reducing him to a vegetative state.
Rosalie herself was then sent to a mental institution, and would stay there for the rest of her life.
After hearing about their fates, I felt nothing but indifference. To me, they were merely passing figures in my life that left marks but unable to trap me.

Rose POV
“Rose! I missed you so much!” My friend Kayla said as I jumped out of the car.
“There’s so much I need to tell you, Lucas and I went on our date and…hey are you ok?” She asked, finally realizing my state of silence.
I almost nodded, almost.
“Kayla, I need your help. Please.” I whispered.
She gasped and took my hands, it was a very rare occasion when I asked for help, especially from those whom I loved.
“Anything, come with me. We’ll talk about it.”
I nodded and followed her to the back of the school.
“Tell me what happened.” She demanded.
I set my books down on the bench and turned to face my best friend.
“It started yesterday, he never told me.” I said, keeping my voice as calm as possible.
“Never told you what?” Kayla asked, I let out a breath.
“That he was getting married.” Kayla’s hand flew up to her mouth.
“What?! What are you talking about?” She asked and I couldn’t help it.
I let the tears flow, one by one.
“He’s my mate, how could he do this?” I asked through tears.
She shook her head and wrapped her arms around me.
“What did he say?” She asked, I pulled out of the embrace and wiped stray tears.
“He said that as the strongest Alpha he’s entitled to more than one wife…he–he’s marrying later. Since he’s twenty and I’m still seventeen he’s marrying this weekend.” She gasped again, she opened her mouth to say something when an administrator’s voice rang through the window.
“What are you doing? Get to class!” We jumped, grabbed our things and walked to class quietly.
“Talk to me at lunch alright?” Kayla said.
