The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Thirty Eight

I stopped running when I reached the clearing, my breath ragged as my glowing fur dimmed faintly. My thoughts were a chaotic whirlwind, each one more suffocating than the last

Mariah’s revelation echoed in my mind

He was your fatheryour mother ended her life”

I sank to the ground, my massive paws sinking into the soft earth as tried to process the revelation. How was I supposed to forgive her? Could I even try? And what did this all mean for me? For my destiny

The woods were eerily silent, the usual symphony of crickets and rustling leaves absent. It was as if the forest itself was holding its breath

Then I felt it

The air shifted, growing heavy and oppressive. The light from my glowing fur flickered faintly, like a dying candle, as an unnatural darkness began to creep into the clearing. It wasn’t like a normal shadow. This darkness was alive, swirling and writhing like a living entity. It absorbed every sliver of light around it, creating a void that made the glowing edges of my fur stand out in stark

contrast

A sense of dread crept over me, seeping into my bones. My ears flattened, and my tail tucked instinctively as the darkness stopped just at the edge of my glow. It didn’t cross the boundary, as if it couldn’tor wouldn’t

Then, I heard it

A laugh

Low and guttural at first, then rising into something sinister and chilling. It was a sound that didn’t just raise the fur on my neck-

it crawled under my skin and settled deep in my chest

Hello, Silver Wolf,a voice drawled, not aloud but in my mind

I whipped around, scanning the darkness for the source, but there was nothingjust the endless black void encircling me

Who’s there?I demanded, though my voice trembled, betraying the fear that gripped me

Another laugh echoed, and this time, two red, glowing eyes appeared in the darkness. They were piercing, almost hypnotic, and

filled with malice so intense it felt like it could burn through my soul

I thought I felt the goddess’s power, the voice said mockingly. So you’re the one they’ve been whispering about. The one who survived. Howdisappointing.”

I swallowed hard, my claws digging into the ground for some semblance of stability. Who are you?I managed to ask, though my voice cracked

The eyes seemed to glow brighter, their intensity washing over me. You already know me,the voice purred, sinister and smooth. I am the end. I am your shadow.”

The words sent a shiver down my spine, and I stumbled back as the glow of my fur began to dim even further

I thought I’d gotten rid of your kind, the voice continued, venom dripping from every word. But here you are, a Silver Wolf, glowing like a beacon of false hope. How quaint.”

Chapter Thirty Eight

Realization hit me like a bolt of lightning, and my chest tightened. ouI whispered. You’re the Shadow Weaver.”

The red eyes narrowed, and the sinister laugh returned, softer this time but no fess chilling. Very good, little wolf. Though I’d prefer you call me what I truly amyour doom.”

The darkness pressed closer, just inches from my fur, and my legs trembled under its weight. The oppressive energy felt like it was crushing me, draining every ounce of courage I had

I will snuff out your light, the Shadow Weaver hissed. Just like I did with the rest of your kind. There will be no Silvermoon Line left when I’m through with you.”

The weight of her words was suffocating, and I felt myself begin to falter, my glow dimming further. The edges of the darkness started to inch closer, testing the limits of the light that remained

You should kneel, she taunted. Spare yourself the pain. Give in, and I might let you live.”

The weight of her presence was crushing, but something within me some tiny sparkrefused to yield

No,I whispered, barely finding my voice

The Shadow Weaver’s laugh echoed once more, a distant howl broke through the silence, sharp and urgent

With those words, the darkness retreated, pulling back as quickly as it had come, leaving me trembling and alone

Stormi!”

The voice rang in my mind, sharp with concern, and I froze

Elijah

Stormi, where are you?”

I hesitated, still shaken, but I managed to answer. I’m in the clearingsomething happened.”

Elijah said, his voice tight. we have a bigger problem. The pack is under attack.”

My chest tightened. What?”

The umbrakins,Isaiah said grimly. They’re here.”

Panic surged through me and iy bolted toward the pack house, the howls of the umbrakins growing louder with every step
