The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Thirty Three

The bonfire roared in the center of the clearing, flames licking the night sky and casting flickering shadows over the faces of the pack. The drums began, low and steady at first, vibrating through the ground and up my legs. Around me, everyone was moving in a wide circle, dancing together, their feet stomping in unison to the rhythm. The air was alive with energywild, free, and utterly magnetic

I watched from the edge, unsure of what to do. I’d never joined in the dances before. I’d always observed from the shadows, too afraid of the judging eyes, too conscious of how out of place I felt. But tonight was different

Come on,Elijah said suddenly, his warm hand reaching out to mine. His voice was soft, almost coaxing, but his eyes sparkled with the reflection of the firelight

I don’t know how,I admitted, taking a hesitant step back

You don’t need to know how,he replied, a faint smile tugging at his lips. Just move. Feel it.”

Before I could come up with another excuse, he gently grabbed my hand, pulling me toward the others. My heart racednot from fear this time, but from something else entirely

The circle of dancers expanded slightly to let us in. I felt every pair of eyes on me, but instead of the judgment I had dreaded, all I saw were smileswelcoming, encouraging

Elijah let go of my hand only to step in front of me, showing me the movements. His feet stomped against the ground in a steady rhythm, his arms loose at his sides as he twisted and swayed. It wasn’t anything complicated, just simple movements in time with the music, but the way he did it made it seem effortless

See? Easy,he said, his voice loud enough to rise above the drums

I look ridiculous,I muttered, trying to copy him

No, you don’t.His voice softened, his gaze steady as it held mine. You look like you belong.”

I rolled my eyes but couldn’t stop the smile creeping onto my face. Slowly, I began to let go of my inhibitions, letting my body follow the rhythm of the drums. At first, my movements were stiff, awkward, but as the music grew louder, faster, I found myself relaxing

And then, I was movingnot perfectly, not gracefully, but moving nonetheless

Elijah grinned at me, a boyish grin that made him look younger, lighter. Before I could process the warmth blooming in my chest, Alex and Austin appeared out of nowhere, their arms flailing dramatically as they danced beside me

Now this is what I call a party!Alex shouted, spinning around me like a lunatic

Austin bumped into him, laughing. Don’t scare her off!”

I couldn’t help itI laughed. Not just a polite chuckle, but a real, fullbodied laugh that seemed to echo above the music

Isaiah joined us next, his movements smoother and more controlled than his brothers. Finally,he said, giving me an approving nod. I was starting to think we’d never get you out here.”

I’m still not sure this is a good idea,I replied, though my smile betrayed my words

It’s the best idea,he countered, twirling me suddenly

I stumbled but caught myself, laughing again as I smacked his arm. Warn me next time!”

No fun in that,he teased, his eyes glinting mischievously

The music grew wilder, the drums pounding faster, and the circle of dancers broke into smaller groups. People moved freely now, spinning and laughing, their joy infectious

For the first time in as long as I could remember, I feltalive

Elijah caught my hand again, spinning me around until I was dizzy, then pulling me close to steady me. His breath was warm against my ear as he whispered, Having fun yet?”

I nodded, unable to speak. The truth was, I was having funmore fun than I thought possible

As the night went on, the flames of the bonfire seemed to grow brighter, casting a golden glow over everything. My mates stayed close, each of them taking turns dancing with me or making me laugh with their antics

At one point, Alex tried to lift me into the air, only to nearly dropme when Austin bumped into him

Smooth,I said, grinning as I dusted myself off

Hey, I meant to do that,Alex replied, winking

Austin rolled his eyes. Sure you did.”

Despite their teasing, they were careful with me, always making sure I was comfortable, always watching for any sign that I wanted to stop. It wasdifferent. Good different

By the time the music slowed, signaling the end of the dance, I was breathless and flushed, my legs aching but my heart light

You’re amazing,Elijah said as we stepped away from the crowd, his voice quiet but firm

I shook my head, laughing softly. I’m a mess.”

No,he said, his eyes locking onto mine. You’re perfect.”

I looked away, not trusting myself to respond. The weight of his words settled over me, warm and heavy, and for a moment, I felt like I might cry

This night was unlike anything I had ever experienced. It wasn’t just the dancing, or the music, or even the way my mates had treated me. It was the feeling of beingaccepted. Wanted

Loved
