Chapter 12
As soon as Arthur stepped into the room, he barked, “Harry, get up right now! Why did you unilaterally cancel-”
But the rest of his words caught in his throat. His gaze froze on the bed, where Camila lay, and for a moment, his mind went completely blank.
Startled awake by his shouting, Camila slowly opened her eyes, momentarily disoriented. It took her a second to process where she was.
Belinda had just entered when she let out a shocked gasp. “Camila, why are you sleeping in your brother’s bed?”
Camila sat there, stunned. She wondered, ‘Brother? Harry? He despises me. Why would he bring me into his room?”

In the three years she had lived in the Jackson family, Agnes had been free to come and go from his bedroom as she pleased, yet Camila had never once
been allowed to step inside.
Arthur and Belinda both looked grim as their eyes scanned the room, searching for Harry. But he was nowhere to be found.
Arthur’s expression darkened. “Where is Harry?”
Camila met his gaze with a detached look but said nothing. Without a word, she climbed out of bed and, moving at an unhurried pace, limped toward the door. But her parents remained firmly in place, blocking her path.
When they made no move to step aside, Camila frowned. “Please move.”
Arthur was already livid over the broken business deal between the Jackson Group and Connor Group. Now, seeing Camila treat him with such Indifference–like he was a complete stranger–only made his anger boil ever
“I’m your father! Is this how you speak to your elders? No manners whatsoever. I don’t know who spoiled you into developing such disgraceful habits,”
he said.
Belinda quickly tried to smooth things over, “Arthur, there’s no need to be so harsh on her. Let’s talk things through properly.”
Arthur let out a cold snort. “Then ask her why wasn’t she sleeping in her own room? What was she doing in Harry’s bed?
“She’s in her twenties, not a child, it’s her first day back, and she’s already stirring up trouble. Even if he’s her real brother, it’s completely inappropriate to sneak into his bed in the middle of the night.
“I’m being strict with her for her own good. You know why I don’t scold Agnes like this? Because Agnes would never do something so shameful! Who knows what’s going through her mind? Maybe she’s—”
“That’s enough!” Belinda cut him off in a panic.
But even though he hadn’t finished his sentence, everyone in the room knew exactly what he was implying.
A sharp pain clenched Camila’s heart. She had always known the Jackson family didn’t like her, but she never imagined that, in Arthur’s eyes, she would. be seen as so disgraceful.
She thought, ‘Harry is my biological brother–what kind of twisted thoughts do they think I have? The only disgusting thing here is the mindset of the person making such accusations.”
She quickly buried the hurt in her eyes. When she looked up again, her expression was cold and unreadable. “Are you done? If so, move aside. I’m leaving.”
Arthur’s chest rose and fell with rage, his expression growing even colder.
Belinda’s concern deepened. “Camila, why are you being so stubborn? Just tell your father–where is Harry?”
don’t know” Camda’s voice was calm as she shifted sideways, trying to squeeze past them.

But before she could, a cold hand suddenly grabbed her arm and yanked her backward.
She was thrown to the ground. Her injured leg twisted again, sending a sharp pain shooting through her body. She collapsed, unable to get up.
Belinda gasped. “Arthur, have you lost your mind?”
Arthur’s expression remained icy. “You’re not leaving this room until you explain everything.”
Camila forced herself to endure the pain and looked up–only to meet Arthur’s fierce gaze.
His eyes weren’t those of a father looking at his daughter. They were filled with malice, cold and unfeeling, as if she were nothing more than a pawn under his control,
