The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter  eighty

The morning sun barely crested over the horizon when we gathered at the training grounds, the crisp air humming with tension. The past few days had been grueling, each lesson pushing us further. Today, however, was different. I could feel it in my bones

Eira stood at the center of the field, her stance rigid, eyes sharp with a knowing glint. I’d learned to recognize that look. It meant today would be another day where she pushed us to our limits

Elijah, she said, turning toward my mate. Today, you’re going to learn the true weight of responsibility.”

Elijah stiffened slightly. He was already a natural protectorhis presence alone was enough to make me feel safe. But I had a feeling that whatever she had planned, it wouldn’t be easy

You’ll be maintaining a full barrier,Eira continued, raising her hand. The air shimmered, and suddenly, glowing orbs of energy surrounded her, flickering with unstable power. They pulsed with raw magic, dangerous and unpredictable

Elijah’s jaw tightened. And for how long?”

Eira’s lips curled into a smirk. As long as it takes.”

My mates and I exchanged glances. We had practiced defensive magie before, but maintaining a shield while being bombarded with energy attacks? That was another level entirely

Elijah stepped forward, rolling his shoulders. Alright. Let’s do this.”

Eira gave a sharp nod. Stormi, you will assist. Your job is to channel the moon’s essence and help sustain the barrier. Your mates will deflect attacks, but if you fail, Elijah’s shield will crumble.”

A lump formed in my throat. It sounded simple enough, but I knew better. My wolf’s magic was powerful but unstable. If I didn’t channel it properly, I could end up draining myselfor worse, breaking the connection completely

I took a deep breath and nodded. Got it.”

Eira didn’t wait. She flicked her wrist, and the first orb shot toward us

Elijah reacted instantly, summoning a shimmering blue dome of energy that enclosed us in a protective sphere. The orb slammed into the barrier, sending ripples across its surface, but the shield held strong

Another attack followed, then another

Isaiah stepped forward, his shadows coiling around him like armor. With a flick of his wrist, tendrils of darkness lashed out, intercepting a stray orb and dissipating its energy before it could reach us

Austin and Alex moved in syncAustin freezing the incoming blasts midair while Alex shattered them with controlled bursts of fire. They were working together, a perfectly balanced dance of offense and defense

It was working. For now

But as Eira increased the intensity, the attacks came faster. The orbs blurred through the air, their energy humming with dangerous

power

Elijah clenched his jaw, his stance firm, but I could see the tension in his muscles. Holding the shield against this relentless assault was taking its toll

I reached deep inside myself, calling on the moon’s essence, willing it to flow through me and into the shield. At first, the magic

responded, surging gently, filling the barrier with renewed energy. The glow intensified, the shield stabilizing

Then, the attacks escalated

Eira’s orbs grew larger, and darker, crackling with raw power. She waved her hand, sending a barrage of them at us

Boom

The shield trembled. Elijah grunted, his hands shaking

I felt the weight of the magic pressing down on him. I needed to channel more powerfast

I pushed harder, willing the moon’s essence to pour into the shield

But something was wrong

津

Instead of flowing evenly, the magic twisted, surging too fast, too violently. My wolf growled in frustration inside me, restless and unbalanced. The power faltered, and for a split second, the shield flickered

That was all it took

An orb broke through

I barely had time to react before the blast sent me flying back, knocking the air from my lungs. Pain shot through my body as thit the ground, rolling across the dirt. My vision blurred, my heart pounding

Stormi!”

Elijah’s voice rang in my ears, frantic. The shield reformed, but it was weaker now, shimmering with instability

I clenched my fists, frustration boiling inside me. I had failed

I struggled to my feet, my legs shaky. Another blast struck the shield and Elijah let out a pained grunt

Damn it

Stormi!Eira’s voice cut through my panic. You’re hesitating. Trust your wolf!”

I sucked in a breath. She was right. I was fighting against my instincts, afraid to let go, afraid of losing control. But control wasn’t

what I needed

I needed trust

I closed my eyes, reaching inward. The moon’s essence was there, a silver flame burning deep within me, wild but waiting

Help me, I whispered

Asurge of warmth spread through me, steady and sure. The energy didn’t fight me this timeit welcomed me

I exhaled, opening my eyes. The world around me sharpened, every detail crystal clear

The next attack came

This time, I didn’t push1 guided

The moon’s essence flowed effortlessly into the shield, stabilizing it. The glow intensified, the barrier solidifying with a radiant

shimmer

Elijah grunted in surprise, but his stance steadied. The energy had shifted. It was no longer just my power feeding the barrierit

was a shared force between us

The shield no longer wavered

We held firm

For the next five minutes, the orbs slammed into the barrier, but none broke through. The magic was steady, the connection strong. My mates worked seamlessly, deflecting stray blasts, and Elijah stood tall, his confidence growing with each passing second

And then, finally-

Eira lifted her hand, and the attacks ceased

The training ground fell silent, only the sound of our heavy breathing filling the space

I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding, my legs trembling from exhaustion. Elijah dropped his hands, his chest rising and falling heavily, but his eyes shone with triumph

We had done it

Eira studied us for a long moment before nodding. That, she said, was much better.”

A small smile tugged at my lips

We were getting stronger

But I knew the real battles were still to come
