Chapter 106
Rhea
To be a Luna of his pack…
It was something that hadn’t crossed my mind until now. It was the first time I had thought of it.
To be the rightful Luna to the Black Fang Pack, to be Aron’s equal and partner. It wasn’t too long ago that I was just a runt. That my wolf was a weak little thing with no ability or potential.
That I was nothing but trash to my pack. And that no one cared about me, but then Aron came along. It changed my life forever in a way that I could never forget.
“There are a few more things that I have to take care of. Why don’t you go ahead and change, and I’ll come back to bit?” Marcella informs me, a gentle smile on her lips. Her gaze travels down the length of my form, and she smiles even more. “You will look amazing in that dress.”
you in
The dress is hanging from the wardrobe, pressed and ironed. A dark red, lace gown that was made for such an occasion. To look the part and not be too overdressed or too simple. It is beautiful, I can’t deny it, but is it worth me?
When Marcella leaves, I move away from the dresser and walk over to where the dress is. My fingers reach forward, brushing over the soft fabric, feeling it underneath my touch. I’ve to be ready and to present my best. That’s what Aron
wants.
The preparations were done in a week, and these few days that I’ve had him, he had been nothing but wonderful to me. Kind, patient, and loving. The change is noticeable not only to me but to the others around him as well.
After that night, everything has been different, better than before.
“Ah, there you are…” Mrs. Alena steps inside my room. She looks at the gown that is displayed in my closet. “All prepared for tonight’s occasion?” she asks, walking forward, her heels clicking on the ground. She’s dressed in black attire with golden chains, bracelets, and earrings that adorn her. “I didn’t ever see this coming.”
They’ve been here, his family–all these days. Mrs. Alena doesn’t say much to me, not after the announcement was made a few days ago, but I can tell that she has been shooting daggers in my direction.
I draw my hand away from the dress and turn to her, keeping up a straight face, hiding any of the nerves that I felt. “Aron is full of surprises.”
She nods, “Yes.” Her eyes flicker to me. “He is, isn’t he?”
I glance at her and wait for her to continue.
“You will be crowned Luna tonight. But do remember that today is just the crowning ceremony. It’ll be weeks before the actual event where pack wolves will learn of your title. Until then, you’ll still be a–well, what are you now?” she questions with a tilt of her head. “A runt? Or something more? I can’t seem to catch up.”
“Either way, I’ll still be a Luna, and I’ll remain mated to Aron,” I reply. “The one thing you’ve no choice over.”
I know what she’s trying to do. Convince me yet again that I’m worthy of this, but I know better now.
I know that her son is meant for me, and that we are fated for eternity. He rejected me months ago; I rejected him months ago, yet our bond was never broken. We’re always going to end up together.
She takes a deep breath and smiles before her hand reaches up to touch my face. Her finger flicks over my chin, and she whispers, “There are many ways to break a fully completed bond, Rhea. You know that, don’t you?” Th~~–
in her voice that’s clear.

Chapter 106
It makes me swall
I didn’t know that.
Is that possible
“Aron loves me.”
971
Yes, yes, he does. I can tell that from the way he looks at you, the way he treats you like you’re something so precious in hi world, and that if he loses you, somehow he loses everything–which is quite strange.” She comments before moving away. and her hand wraps around my dress. “Even his father didn’t share this with me, even when we were mates. There was always something more for a man than his female companion
She releases a sigh. I don’t know what I’m supposed to make of that, of what she’s trying to convince me.
There has to be a double meaning to her words.
Bet what now?
“Why do you not care for your son’s happiness?”
I do. Just in my own way?
“You don’t like me? I’m trying to understand what her problem is.
She narrows her eyes and shakes her head, “No, I don’t she replies honestly. “It doesn’t have to do with the person you are, Rhea. I’m sure you’re a well–mannered woman who wouldn’t hurt my son. But you’re just not suitable for this–for being his mate, or for anything
My heart skips a bit.
“Why do you think that
“He needs more than you can give. And you can never match up to him. He needs a shadow to match his darkness, and well you’re not that the shrugs before tilting her head a little. “You know the stories that are going around–I’m sure you’ve heard of them yourself-
That’s not Aron, I tell her that accidentally, and as soon as I do, I take in a sharp breath. She catches onto my mistake, buz before she asks anything, I continue. “I mean, they are just stories. I haven’t seen him hurt anyone-*
“So he didn’t slaughter your old Alpha and his mate on their wedding?” She asks, and I shut up completely. My throat feels fight, and I can’t say a word, not a single word. I stay silent, hoping not to reveal the truth of what she had heard. “Or is that not cruel enough for your
“You don’t know everything, about him, you know only what he wants to show to you. What he wants to make you believe is tree. Even 1, as his mother, knew very little. At the end of the day, my son is someone very different. And he needs someone with him that understands his needs, his desires, his darkness. That’s not you
She doesit know what I know–out Kael, about Aron’s darkness.
In that moment, I remain quiet. The more I speak to her, the more chances there are of the truth coming out of me, and it’s better if I don’t say anything, at all.
She takes that silence as her own answer.
“Well, I hope you enjoy the crown for as long as it rests on your head. I know I did‘ And she leave 1-
with her final words hanging over me.
