Isabelle was stunned instantly upon hearing those words.

“That’s right, Fletcher did pay us. But he also gave us another order,” the man in black said, his eyes cold as he saw through Isabelle’s movements and began walking toward her.

“He said his daughter knows too much. So, Miss Henderson, you’d better keep your mouth shut forever, the man sneered.
As soon as he said that, Isabelle turned and bolted without hesitation.
But she had barely taken a few steps when several figures appeared at the alley’s exit, dressed identically to the man in black. It was clear they were his accomplices.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Isabelle, who couldn’t leave the alley, had to stop.

Isabelle scrambled backward to dodge, but her foot caught on the corpses littering the ground. She stumbled and fell, narrowly avoiding a fatal strike. Still, the blade managed to graze her arm, leaving a stinging wound.
“Ouch!” She let out a pained grunt, her eyes flashing with fury
Before that man could react, she grabbed another handful of the poisonous powder and flung it at him.
But this time, he was prepared. The moment Isabelle moved, he stepped back swiftly, dodging the powder.
He said, “You still want to use that trick? You must be courting-”

She tightened her grip on the dagger and twisted it mercilessly. A cruel smile played on her lips as she continued, “The moment you sent me that note in my father’s name, you gave yourselves away.
“My father’s never been one to pay for me. He’s only ever sold me out. If he suddenly spent money because of me, it meant he was paying others to kill me, not to save me.
“You are nothing more than pawns my cunning father bought for two thousand dollars. He sent you to test me. If I survived,
meant I still had value. If I died, it meant I was worthless. And such a solution was indeed an idea that a person as insidious and vicious as my father could come up with.”
As Isabelle’s words laid bare the brutal truth, the black–clad man could only die with unwillingness etched across his face. “Clang!” The dagger hit the ground, and Isabelle also nearly collapsed alongside it,
