The battlefield was eerily silent. The dust had settled, and the bodies of the fallen lay still beneath the moon’s glow. The war was
finally over.
I took a deep breath, but it was heavy–filled with the weight of loss So many had died. Brave werewolves, powerful witches, warriors who had given everything to secure our future.
I clenched my fists, my nails biting into my palms. Was this the price of peace?
A soft breeze carried the scent of blood and burnt earth. Around me my people moved–some searching for survivors, others tending to the wounded. The air was filled with hushed voices, murmured prayers, and the quiet cries of those who had lost loved
ones.
Rowena approached, her expression grim. Her usually sharp, calculating eyes were dimmed with sorrow. She stood beside me, silent for a long moment, before finally speaking.
“The war is over, but not everyone will accept it,” she said softly.
I turned to her, my brows knitting together. “What do you mean?”
She sighed, crossing her arms. “Not all of the Children of the Eclipse surrendered when the Shadow Weaver fell. There are still rogue witches among them–ones who refuse to accept the new peace. They’re scattered, but dangerous.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be that easy. Even with the war won, there would always be those who clung to the past, to their hatred.
I straightened my shoulders, my voice firm. “Then they will be sentenced before the elders. If they refuse to change–if they still seek destruction–then they will answer for their crimes.”
Rowena nodded, but I could see the weariness in her posture. We were all tired. Exhausted. But we weren’t done yet.
I scanned the battlefield, my heart heavy as I looked at my people–my pack, my family.
Many were standing, some injured, some barely holding themselves together. But they were alive.
And we would rebuild.
I turned back to Rowena. “The witches fought beside us. They bled for this victory just as much as the wolves did. It’s time for a new alliance, one that isn’t built on old grudges and mistrust.”
Rowena’s lips twitched in a faint smile. “You sound like a queen.”
I scoffed. “I sound like someone who’s sick of unnecessary bloodshed”
She chuckled, but there was a softness in her gaze that wasn’t usually there. “Then let’s make it official. The witches and the wolves will stand together. Not as enemies, not as allies out of necessity, but as equals.”
I extended my hand. She looked at it for a brief moment, then clasped it tightly.
“Together, we’ll make sure this never happens again,” I vowed.
Rowena nodded. “Together.”
The trek back to the packlands was slow and grueling, I didn’t have the strength to open the lunar veil.

Chapter 229
Our forces were battered, exfitasted, and mourning the fallen. Some carried their wounded, others held onto their dead. Every step forward was a painful reminder of what we had lost.
But despite the sorrow, there was something else.
Hope.
For the first time in centuries, the Shadow Weaver was gone. The way that had plagued us for generations had finally come to an end. We had a future again.
As we reached the outskirts of the packlands, I felt my chest tighten
The sight before us was devastating.
The once–proud packlands were in ruins. Homes had been destroyed buildings collapsed, and the scent of smoke still lingered in the air. The land that had once been a sanctuary was now little more than rubble.
The wolves who had stayed behind to protect our home were the first to see us. Their faces lit up with relief and disbelief.
Shouts of joy rang through the air. The young ones ran toward us, their eyes wide with admiration. The elders stood at the gates, their heads bowed in silent gratitude.
And then–cheers erupted.
“They did it! They won!”
“The war is over!”
“Stormi is back!”
I felt a lump rise in my throat as I took in the sight of my people rushing to greet us. They had feared we wouldn’t return. And yet,
here we were.
One by one, those who fought with us and survived were embraced by their loved ones. Some collapsed into the arms of their families, others simply stood in stunned silence, taking in the reality of our victory.
I turned to my mates.
Elijah had his arm around Alex, exhaustion evident in his posture. Isaiah stood tall, his expression unreadable, but the tension in his shoulders had finally eased. Austin was the first to move, wrapping an arm around my waist.
“We’re home,” he murmured.
I exhaled a deep breath, letting the tension finally leave my body.
“Yeah. We are.”
That night, we gathered in the remnants of the park Hall. The place where so many meetings had taken place before–where strategies had been formed, alliances debated, and war declared.
Now, it would be where we rebuilt.
The remaining pack leaders, the witches, and the strongest warriors sat before me, their eyes filled with uncertainty but also determination.

I stood before them, my mates at my side.
“The war is over, but our work isn’t done,” I began, my voice carrying through the broken hall. “We lost so much, but we survived. Now, we rebuild. Not just our homes, but our future.”
The crowd was silent, hanging onto my every word.
“There will be those who resist change, those who refuse to let go of the past. But we will not let them pull us back into darkness. The wolves and witches will stand as one from this day forward.”
Murmurs of agreement spread through the crowd.
I clenched my fists, my heart pounding.
“We will honor those who fell. We will protect those who remain. And together, we will create a world where our children don’t have to live in fear.”
A loud howl echoed through the hall. Then another. And another.
Soon, the room was filled with howls, cheers, and the unshakable bond of unity.
I looked at my mates, my people, my future.
And for the first time in a long time…
I truly believed in tomorrow.
