As the giant’s axe descended toward her, Tina braced for impact, almost certain she would die.

In the blink of an eye, both the axe and its wielder disappeared from the already destroyed courtyard.
Tina stood frozen, unable to spot the giant. But what she did see was Eliza, standing where the giant had vanished, her eyes cold and focused.
Eliza’s face was pale, her hand still stretched out, and she hurriedly asked, “Are you okay, Tina? Did the axe hurt you?”
The giant’s power had far exceeded Eliza’s expectations.
She hadn’t anticipated that even Tina, nearly flawless in battle, would make a mistake. That one moment–just one–almest cost Tina her life.
Eliza felt a wave of frustration, annoyed with herself for not being more cautious.
“I should’ve been more careful earlier. I knew it was risky, but…”
Before she could finish, Tina suddenly stepped forward, pulling Eliza into a tight embrace.
“Are you scared?” Tina asked, her voice soft.
Eliza, thinking Tina was shaken by the close call, wrapped her arms around her and patted her back reassuringly. “It’s okay, it’s okay. We’ve got this now. The giant is contained. Though I can’t kill him right now, he won’t be able to hurt us anymore.”
