“They moved in as soon as we left?” Nolan raised an eyebrow “Classic bait and switch. How many of them are there?
“Just over a dozen. The leader seems to be a sorcerer, Eliza replied. Then, with a glimmer of excitement in her eyes, she added, “And it looks like they’ve got a King Parasite. That might be a little tricky”
Her tone might have been calm, but the sparkle in her eyes gave her away when she mentioned the King Parasite
Nolan chuckled. “Then let’s make sure they stay. That King Parasite will be perfect to feed Vexars.”
As he spoke, his gaze flicked to the golden butterfly perched on Eliza’s head, its delicate form resembling a beautif
ornament.
A King Parasite might be the peak for ordinary parasites, but for Vexara, it was just another stepping stone.

At the base of a towering mountain, the collapsed snow stretched endlessly before them.
Eliza’s gaze lingered on the vast expanse of white, her expression heavy with unease.
She closed her eyes, trying to sense something, but after a while, there was still no response.
“The poisonous bugs that were with the scouts aren’t reacting,” she said quietly.
If there was no sign of them even there, there was only one conclusion. They were dead. “Well, looks like we’ll have to search ourselves,” Nolan said, his tone grim.
Nolan’s eyes shifted to the nearby snow–covered mountain, his brows furrowing deeply. The mountain was enormous–several times larger than the surrounding peaks.
Even following the avalanche’s trail wouldn’t make the search any easier.
Fortunately, they weren’t entirely without options.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle this,” Eliza said with quiet confidence.
She raised her hand, summoning the golden butterfly hovering above her head. It fluttered its wings and landed delicately on her fingertip.
“Vexara, get them searching. Leave no spot unchecked,” she commanded.
Crouching down, she plunged her other hand into the snow. Hidden from view, countless poisonous bugs poured out from her pocket farm, burrowing into the snow like a living tide.
After releasing tens of thousands of poisonous bugs, Eliza finally withdrew her numb hand. As she stood up, Nolan Silently
handed her a hand warmer.
Feeling the warmth seeping into her fingers, Eliza’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Just wait. We’ll find something soon enough.”
