Farah tilted her face up to him, pouting. “I had a nightmare last night. I’m scared to sleep alone. Can you come to bed with me? Please?”
Her cheeks flushed, and she bit her lip, her shy gaze fixed on Zvonimir.
It didn’t take a genius to understand Farah’s intentions.
But Zvonimir wasn’t in the mood for intimacy. Instead, he reassured her perfunctorily, “I’ll ask Nanny Smith to sleep with you.”
He pushed Farah aside and reached for his phone to call Nanny Smith.
Farah grabbed his hand, her face reddened with frustration. “Zvonimir, do you despise me? I may not have experience with any male wolves, but I’ll try to satisfy you. Whatever you want, I’ll do it.”
She lowered her head, feigning shyness. Her sweet voice would enchant any male wolf. Yet Zvonimir’s thoughts drifted to Rishima’s defiant demeanor when he’d pinned her in the lounge earlier.
Imagining Rishima in that moment, he wanted to rip her dress apart, leave her completely exposed, and see if she could maintain her air of dignity. That would be the consequence of defying him.
“Zvonimir!” Farah’s tearful voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
Turning around, he saw her crying, her face filled with grief and her eyes brimming with tears, making her look pitiful.
Feeling guilty, Zvonimir pulled her into his arms and said, “Silly female, I don’t despise you. It’s just that your reproductive cycle hasn’t started yet, so we can’t mate.”
Farah wanted to argue that mating wasn’t restricted to her cycle, but she held back, resentment flashing in her eyes.
She was sharp enough to sense Zvonimir’s unsettled mood. Pushing further would only lead to his annoyance, so she decided to wait for another opportunity.
Farah wiped her tears and smiled. “As long as you don’t dislike me, that’s enough.”
Zvonimir gave a noncommittal hum.
Farah returned to her room reluctantly.
Perhaps it was her female instincts, but ever since Rishima appeared at the mate–bonding party, Farah had felt uneasy, convinced that Zvonimir still longed for her.
She needed to bear Zvonimir’s cub as soon as possible to solidify her position in the Silverfang Pack,
“I need a male wolf who can keep a secret,” Farah texted a wolf named “Richard.”
Richard was the Silverfang Pack’s private doctor, trusted implicitly by Mrs. Ashcroft for his unparalleled skills. He was also the one tasked with evaluating Farah’s fertility.
However, Mrs. Ashcroft didn’t know that Farah and Richard had long been conspiring together.
Richard replied quickly, likely still awake: “My sweetie, it’s your mate bonding night, Didn’t Master Zvonimir satisfy you? Or should you come to me tomorrow? I’ll make sure you’re utterly pleased.”

“He won’t touch me,” Farah complained. “The Silverfang Pack knows when my cycle starts, so I can’t inject the stimulant. Find me
another way.”
“Why the rush?” Richard asked.
“I need to carry Zvonimir’s cub soon to secure my standing in the Silverfang Pack.”
Richard scoffed, his tone seductive: “I’m a male wolf too. Why not choose me?”
Farah laughed flirtatiously. “Suit yourself.”
Richard’s breath quickened. “If you’ve agreed, then I’ll come see you tomorrow. Don’t beg me to go easy on you.”
The next morning.
“Do you really want to leave the empire?” Zelda, still drowsy from just waking up, sat at the dining table and stared in shock at Rishima after hearing her intentions. “Why did you make such a sudden decision? Did Zvonimir force you?”
Before Rishima could answer, Zelda exploded in anger. “That bastard Back when he was courting you, he would do anything for you, and now he’s so heartless as to force you to leave the empire! Who does he think he is? I want to beat him to death!”
Rishima calmly sipped her porridge and said, “Let him be! Honestly, if you could beat him to death, I’d thank you for it.”
Zelda frowned at Rishima’s composed demeanor. “You’re mocking me, aren’t you? Don’t think I don’t get it.”
Rishima placed a bowl of dumplings in front of Zelda and replied with a chuckle, “You’re overthinking it. I truly wish someone would give Zvonimir a beating. Unfortunately, we’re not strong enough to take him on. Zvonimir is a lunatic; don’t provoke him in the future. Just pretend he doesn’t exist.”
“You’re right. We shouldn’t waste our time on a mad dog like Zvonimir. Let the Silverfang pack deal with their own mess.” Zelda stabbed a dumpling with her chopsticks, stuffing it into her mouth angrily.
“Wow! This is delicious!” Zelda’s eyes lit up, and she gave a thumbs–up. “Rishima, your cooking is amazing. If you leave, what will I do? I might just starve to death!”
Rishima: “…How did you survive before I came around?”
Zelda chewed her dumpling and replied, “Packed meals.”
Rishima: “…
After breakfast, Rishima began packing her belongings.
Zelda, having no work that day, stood nearby while Rishima organized her clothes. “Are you really leaving? What exactly did Zvonimir do to pressure you?”
“He didn’t pressure me; I decided to leave the empire on my own,” Rshima said as she pulled clothes from the wardrobe. “I want to
move to L State.”
- State was where she and Zelda had attended university and become friends. After graduation, they had moved to the empire together to start their careers. Four years had passed since then.
Although L State wasn’t as prosperous as the empire, its scenery w beautiful, and the slower pace of life lacked the pressures of the empire. It was an ideal place for peaceful living.
Now that Rishima was pregnant with two wolf pups, she wanted a tranquil environment to raise her little ones. A serene and scenic

place like L. State was perfect for settling down.
Zelda, however, was convinced that Zvonimir had forced Rishima to leave. This belief only fueled Zelda’s desire for Rishima to find an Alpha who was a hundred times stronger than Zvonimir to be her mate.
“Did Matthew take you home last night? How did you two get along? Zelda asked with a sly grin.
“Nothing happened,” Rishima replied, continuing to pack.
