The Alpha’s Possession 24
“Why don’t you stay in the empire for a while and get to know Matthew better? I’m sure you two would make a perfect couple,” Zelda urged.
“I really don’t want a mate anymore,” Rishima said with exhaustion in her eyes.
Zelda hesitated, then waved her hand. “Fine, I won’t push you. Just promise me you’ll take care of yourself and never let that mad dog Zvonimir deceive you again.”
Rishima nodded. Suddenly remembering something, she asked, “Zelda, I’m flying out of the empire this afternoon and won’t have time to meet Matthew. I promised him dinner last night–can you go in my place?”
“Got it.” Zelda reluctantly helped Rishima with her packing.
“When you get to L State, if you ever need my help, don’t hesitate to call me. Don’t try to handle everything alone.”
“And if Zvonimir tries to rekindle things with you, don’t even think about it. He’s a despicable wolf. Let him spend the rest of his life with someone like that tramp, Farah.”
Despite Zelda’s endless nagging, Rishima didn’t feel annoyed. Instead, she felt deeply moved. She was grateful to have a friend who cared so much about her.
Once her packing was done, Rishima finalized her lease with the landlord, transferring the rental agreement to Zelda. She also gave
Zelda her car.
Zelda wanted to take her to the airport, but Rishima refused.
Ever since her parents died in an accident on their way to the airport, Rishima had developed a fear of farewells. She adamantly declined Zelda’s offer to see her off.
“I’m leaving now.” Rishima waved to Zelda from the taxi. “Once I settle in L State, you must come visit me. I’ll cook you some delicious meals.”
“Okay,” Zelda agreed.
Not long after leaving her rental, Rishima received a phone call. The screen displayed immediately knew it was Zvonimir.

After severing her bond with Zvonimir, she had deleted all his contact information. Yet his phone number, which she had seen countless times over the past three years, was etched into her memory, just like her feelings for him.
Rishima didn’t answer the call or reject it. Instead, she switched her phone to silent mode and stuffed it into her bag.
Meanwhile, Zvonimir sat in his office, staring at Rishima’s resignation letter, which Daryl had sent him earlier.
From last night until now, Zvonimir’s mood had been terrible. That morning, he noticed Rishima’s absence from the quarterly company meeting and questioned his secretary, only to learn that she had resigned a week ago.
As a result, Zvonimir spent the entire meeting scowling and even lashed out at the senior executives, leaving them too frightened to breathe. Once the meeting ended, they fled the room in haste.
When Daryl sent him Kishima’s resignation letter, Zvonimir immediately called her. He was determined to teach that insolent female wolf a lesson so she wouldn’t dare resign without his consent again.

But to his surprise, she didn’t pick up after five calls.
Zvonimir’s expression grew darker with each unanswered call. Daryl noticing his fury, said, “Sir Alpha, you should let her go. You’ve already severed your bond with her–why keep her in the company? mph, at least she had the decency to resign on her own…”
“You just approved her resignation without consulting me? Do you think you have full authority over the design department?” Zvonimir hurled a stack of documents at Daryl.
Caught off guard, Daryl dodged and stammered, “Sir Alpha…”
Zvonimir sneered. “Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been up to in the design department. I’ve tolerated your minor misdeeds, but if you dare delay projects, steal ideas from your subordinates, or spread rumors, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
Daryl turned pale and stammered, “Sir Alpha, I… I didn’t do anything. I just thought Rishima was an amateur designer, and her resignation wouldn’t affect the department’s operations.”
“I personally brought her into the company, so her resignation is my decision to make!” Zvonimir growled.
“Yes, yes, yes. Sweat drenched Daryl’s back as he silently cursed Rishima, but out of fear of Zvonimir, he could only agree to call her back to the company.
Daryl nervously asked, “Sir Alpha, do you want me to contact her and ask her to return?”
“Get out!” Zvonimir, of course, wouldn’t admit that he had spent the entire night missing Rishima, even dreaming of mating with her. This morning, he had woken up to find his trousers soaked with semen, leaving him both angry and ashamed.
Seeing Daryl still hesitating, Zvonimir hurled his coffee mug and roared, you out?”

“I’ll leave immediately.” Daryl wiped the sweat from his brow and fled the room.
Zvonimir paced his office in frustration before kicking over a table. Hearing the motion, his secretary rushed in. “Mr. Ashcroft, is everything all right?”
Without a word, Zvonimir stormed out of the office. “Reschedule all my afternoon appointments for tomorrow.”
After Rishima left, Zelda was left alone in the apartment, feeling empty. She played video crawling back onto the bed to sleep.

She had barely dozed off when a loud “Bang! Bang!” came from the door, as if someone
was pounding
on it with all their might.
At first, she thought it was the neighbors making noise and ignored it, pulling the blanket over her head to continue sleeping. But the sound grew louder and more insistent, as if threatening to break down the door.
“Fuck you!” Zelda cursed angrily, climbing out of bed.
Already irritated by Rishima’s sudden departure, Zelda was in no mood for the racket. She stormed to the door and, without even looking, yelled, “You bastard! What the hell are you banging on my door for…?”
The moment the word ‘for‘ left her lips, Zelda caught sight of Zvonimir’s dark expression. Her words froze in her throat, and for a moment, she was too stunned to react.
Zvonimir let out a cold faugh, shoved her aside, and strode inside. Were you about to curse at me? You’re not qualified to! Where’s Rishima?
