Chapter 1
Felicity’s POV
“Find a way to drug the Luna, then remove her uterus so she can never have children.”
After my miscarriage, I accidentally overheard Dorian giving these instructions to the pack doctor. I covered my mouth, suppressing the urge to make a sound.
Then, he gently placed his hand on another woman’s stomach and ordered,
“Give her the best prenatal care. I want her child to be the heir of the Silverclaw Pack.”
I knew this woman–she was an omega in our pack.
Dorian then turned back to the pack doctor and sternly added, “And make sure Luna recovers well. If this surgery leaves her with any complications, none of you will escape the consequences.”
My heart trembled.
I never imagined that the man who once claimed to love me more than life itself would betray me.
As I walked back to my hospital room, I felt utterly numb. My mind kept replaying what I had just
witnessed.
The Alpha mate who had once cherished me like a precious gem, who had loved me with all his heart, had betrayed me with another woman and ordered the removal of my uterus.
And he knew better than anyone that the one thing I wanted most in this world was a child.
Passing nurses cast envious glances my way.
“Alpha reserved the entire floor so she could rest without disturbance. He even hired professional nurses, those skilled healers, to care for her around the clock. And that’s not all–he refuses to leave her side, staying with her day and night. Alpha truly loves Luna.”
“When Luna miscarried and started hemorrhaging, Alpha cried until his eyes were swollen. I’ve never seen an Alpha care so much for his mate. I heard they were childhood sweethearts. To make her the pack’s Luna, he even transferred all the pack’s assets to her name and put her in charge of managing them.”
If I had heard this before today, I would have felt incredibly blessed.
But now, it made me sick to my stomach. It felt as if a fly were lodged in my throat, making me want
to gag.

At that moment, Dorian’s furious voice echoed from a nearby room.
“You incompetent fools! You couldn’t even keep an eye on her! If anything happens to Felicity, I’l
kill you all!”
Dorian rarely lost his temper. The last time he did was when I fell gravely ill. He had searched for every pack doctor and healer, only to be told there was no cure. He had been so desperate that he nearly destroyed the hospital and even considered dying with me.
Now, as I watched the veins bulging on his temple, I felt none of the warmth or gratitude I once had. Instead, I spoke coldly.
“Dorian, I’m here.”
The moment he saw me, his eyes lit up. He rushed over and pulled me into his arms.
“Felicity, where did you go? Why didn’t you tell me? I thought something had happened to you.‘
His voice trembled with fear, as if he genuinely cared.
I subtly pushed him away. “The room felt stuffy. I went out for some fresh air.”
He finally let out a breath of relief, but his grip on my hand remained firm.
Then, taking the medicine from the pack doctor, he gently lifted it to my lips.
“Felicity, it’s time to take your
medicine.”
I stared at the pills in his hand, a chill creeping down my spine. The scene I had just witnessed replayed in my mind.
“It’s bitter. I don’t want to take it.”
In the past, Dorian never refused my requests. But this time, he insisted.
“If you don’t take it, your body won’t recover, and you won’t be able to conceive. Don’t you want to give me a baby?”
He knew that children were my weakness, and he was confident that using them as bait would make
me comply.
But I no longer trusted him. I knocked the pills from his hand, my voice cold.
“I said, I’m not taking it.”
For a moment, Dorian’s gentle expression stiffened, and a flicker of displeasure passed through his

eyes.
I thought knocking the medicine away would save me. But the next second, everything went black.
I lost consciousness.
When I woke up the next morning, a deep sense of dread filled me. I lifted the blanket and looked down–a fresh surgical scar marred my abdomen.
My world collapsed in an instant.
I wanted to confront Dorian, but before I could, he spoke first.
“Love, you suddenly fainted last night. When the pack doctor examined you, they found your uterus was cancerous. I had them remove it.”
To make his lie more convincing, he even held up a medical report, which clearly stated that my uterus had been affected by cancer.
If I hadn’t overheard his conversation with the pack doctor, I might have believed him.
I stared at the jagged scar on my stomach, feeling as if my heart had been ripped in two. Despair
consumed me.
Dorian pulled me into his arms, his voice full of sorrow.
“Love, I know how much you wanted a child, but your health comes first. I couldn’t risk losing you. It’s okay–we can always adopt a baby in the
