Chapter 11
Jack’s POV-
I wasn’t sure how long it had been…but without Rose, it felt as if my life was a house in the middle of
a tornado.
I was being sucked up and up, higher and higher, until I was dropped back to reality…the reality that
she was gone.
We were supposed to get married and have children, Rose and I, not Amy and Jamie and L.
I spun the glass of wine in my hand and thought about the smug look on Mike’s face when he took my mate away, and the look of terror on her face.
She didn’t want to go with him, it’s the only explanation. Why else would she leave with him?
Suddenly it felt as though my heart stopped beating and my temples beat aggressively.
Amy knelt down to me, my heart was throbbing with pain, my neck seared and my muscles bunched
up in knots.
What the hell was going on?
“Call…doctor.” I managed to sputter out before I blacked out.
“Don’t you have like nurses for that?”
Jamie’s voice rang through my ears as I sat up in bed.
I made noise to signal that I was awake and at once the doctor entered with Amy and Jamie.
“Alpha Jack…you’re not going to like this.”
I sat up straighter.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“It’s Rose, she’s accepted her new mate. That was the pain you were feeling earlier.”
She explained, before I could question her further I reflected on her words.
“She…she felt this pain?”
I asked and she nodded.

“The pain you experienced was only a fraction of what she felt, Mating another wolf is a very traumatic thing for a mate to have to go through.”
She explained.
“Does this mean she’s mated with him?”
I asked after moments of silence.
She shook her head.
“No…but she’s in the process of doing so.”
I narrowed my eyes, I was going to have to stop them, whatever it takes…she would not mate with
him.
-Rose’s POV–
Michaelangelo had marked me, the second his teeth grazed my skin I knew… I wanted nothing more
than to be his forever.
This time however I was willing, so I had accepted him along with my wolf and…whatever other side
I had.
“Michaelangelo?” I called from the kitchen as I finished the dishes.
“Yeah, right here.”
He said as he walked around the corner with a laid of sweatpants hanging low on his waist.
“Please put some clothes on, it’s really distracting.”
He chuckled and walked back into the room and came back out twenty seconds later.
“Alright…what is it you wanted to tell me?”
He asked as he sat on one of the stools at the bar.
“Well…I was wondering what the next step was?”
He sighed and I placed his food on the counter.
“The next step is to inform my pack. A big commotion will come of it and many will be very pleased. My mother and father will definitely be pleased…”
He mumbled the last part.

“So when do we go home?” I asked, he rubbed the back of his neck.
“Well…I’m not sure if I want to go soon. I mean I want to get to know you better and-”
Just then a noise sounded from the back of the house.
“Stay here, I’ll be right back.”
I nodded and backed up into the counter and grabbed a kitchen knife just in case.
“You iditot! I could’ve killed you!”
I heard my mate’s laughter from the end of the hallway.
“I’m sorry I didn’t want to knock I just–oh…hello there.”
The man said as he spotted me standing in the kitchen.
“Erm…hi, who are you?”
I asked and he shook his head.
“Oh right…sorry I’m Max, a friend of Mike…are you also a ‘friend‘?”
He asked putting a little too much emphasis on the ‘friend‘ part for my liking.
“Actually Max…this is my mate, Rose.”
Max’s eyes widened as he looked me over and walked towards me.
“Thank the gods, It’s so good to see that Mike is finally happy.”
He hugged tightly against him.
“You smell like him too, have you two…”
He trailed off and I rolled my eyes answering him before my mate could.
“I don’t think that’s any of your business so if you would refrain from asking personal questions as I value my privacy. Now if you’re hungry you can sit at the table and I’ll get you something to eat but if not I suggest you sit and explain why it is that you decided to interrupt time with my mate.”
I walked back to Michaelangelo who put his arm around my waist and smiled down at me.
“A fighter huh? I suppose I am a little hungry, it’s a long trip from Ganandor.”
I gasped as I piled a plate up for Max.

“Ganandor? The wolf kingdom? What were you doing there?”
I asked as I placed the plate in front of him.
“Thank–you, well Rose I actually live there.”
My eyes widened as I sat down across from him.
“Wow…can you tell me about it?” I asked, Max’s eyes sparkled as he set down his fork.
“The kingdom is home to one of the most beautiful castles in the world. Of course it can only be seen by the eyes of those who are not entirely human. The men and women are courteous and beautiful inside and out. It’s one of those places where immediately you feel welcomed and incredibly happy for no reason at all. I’ve lived there my whole life…in fact it’s where I met your
mate.”
I turned to look at Michaelangelo.
“Really? What was my mate doing there?”
I asked and Max shrugged.
“He was born there, his parents live there actually.”
I looked back to Max, puzzled.
“But his parents reside on Ranch property…not in Ganandor.”
I said as Max set his plate aside.
“There is much my friend has not told you Rose.”
“Like what?”
I questioned.
“Max.”
Michaelangelo warned, but I pressed him further.
“What don’t I know?”
“Your mate is the ruler of Ganandor, and you are his now is mate and soon to be bride.”
