Chapter 8
Felicity’s POV
The Alpha of Nina’s pack was Xander Sterling, the Alpha of the Blackmoon Pack. He was undeniably handsome, hot and striking.
Many of the she–wolves had joined the ski trip purely because of him.
But he had a cold and aloof demeanor. Aside from answering questions about skiing and the pack, he ignored all other topics.
Before we set off to climb the snowy mountain, he and his Beta personally checked everyone’s safety gear. When it was my turn, he paused, staring at me carefully.
His gaze was odd, as if we had met before, but he said nothing.
After confirming that my gear was secure, he led us up the mountain.
Back when I was with Dorian, he never allowed me to participate in extreme sports. He worried that my body wouldn’t handle the strain.
Little does he know, I’ve always been an adrenaline junkie – the kind that gets off on outdoor sports that’ll make your heart pound right out of your chest.
But to avoid worrying him, I gave it all up after becoming Luna.

Before that, skiing had my greatest passion. All these years without it, I’d felt a restless itch whenever I saw videos of people gliding down snowy slopes.
I never thought I’d have the chance to ski again.
Yet here I was. The moment my skis touched the snow, a wave of exhilaration washed over me. It was as if my soul had been freed, and an overwhelming sense of ease took over.
Everything was perfect–until I neared the finish line.
Out of nowhere, an out–of–control skier shot toward me. He had lost the ability to stop and crashed
into me at full speed.
The impact sent me sprawling. My body tumbled uncontrollably, rolling downhill before I finally hit the ground at the finish line. Pain exploded through me, and I groaned in agony, my mouth filled
with snow.
The others rushed over immediately, but Xander was the fastest. He scooped me up in his arms and carried me into a nearby wooden lodge.

“Are you okay?” he asked, his clear eyes laced with concern.
I rubbed my aching back and shook my head, “I’m fine. Just a little sore. It’ll pass.”
But he frowned.
“No. I’m taking you to the pack doctor. Some internal injuries aren’t immediately noticeable.”
Before I could protest, he had already carried me off to the pack doctor. Only after a thorough examination and an X–ray confirming I had no serious injuries did he finally relax.
Watching his tense expression case, I couldn’t help but feel grateful.
“Told you, I’m a werewolf, remember?” I joked, then continued, “Thank you, Alpha Xander.”
“You’re a guest of the pack. It’s my responsibility to look after you.” He spoke in a measured tone, his expression unreadable. Then he glanced outside. “It’s almost sunset. I’ll take you all back to
rest.”
But my wolf had been growing restless, and a question had been circling in my mind all day. Finally,
I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
I reached out aned his arm.
