The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Twenty Two

The weekend had passed, but the memory of Elijah’s kiss still lingerell in the back of my mind like an annoying itch I couldn’t scratch. No matter how many times I told myself to let it go, it kept coming back, playing on a loop whenever I had a quiet moment

As I stepped outside the cabin Monday morning, I froze in my tracks. There they were

Isaiah was perched on the hood of Elijah’s Jeep, casually leaning back like he owned the world. Elijah leaned against the driver’s door, arms crossed, his gaze locked on me. Meanwhile, Alex and Austin were lounging on the porch steps like they had every right to be there

What part of leave me alone don’t you guys understand?I snapped narrowing my eyes at them

Good morning to you too,Alex said with a smirk, not even pretending to be offended

We’re just here to give you a ride to school,Elijah added, pushing off the car and taking a step toward me. No big deal.”

I rolled my eyes. I don’t need a ride.”

You’re going to walk all the way there?Isaiah asked, raising an eyebrow

Yes,I said, lifting my chin defiantly

Stormi,Elijah began, his voice soft but firm, “you don’t have to make everything so hard—”

I don’t want your help,I interrupted, cutting him off

Before he could say anything else, Mariah poked her head out of the cabin

What’s going on?she asked, looking between me and the boys

They’re trying to force me into their stupid car,I said, gesturing toward the Jeep

Mariah blinked, then burst out laughing. Stormi, just let them give you a ride. It’s not like it’ll kill you.”

No,I said firmly, glaring at her

She shrugged, clearly amused. Suit yourself. She turned back to the boys with an apologetic smile. Sorry, boys. I tried.”

As she disappeared back inside, I adjusted my backpack and started walking down the path, my head held high

I’d barely made it half a mile when I heard the familiar rumble of Elijah’s Jeep behind me. I didn’t need to turn around to know they were there

The sound of the engine slowed as they matched my pace. I kept my eyes forward, determined to ignore them, but it wasn’t long

before the drizzle started

It was light at first, just a few droplets here and there. But as the minutes ticked by, the rain began to pick up, soaking through my jacket and dampening my hair

Stormi,Isaiah called from the passenger seat, leaning out the window, just get in the car.”

No,I said, not breaking stride

Chapter Twenty Two

You’re going to get soaked,Alex chimed in, his voice laced with frustration

Good,I shot back

Stormi, this is ridiculous,Isaiah said. You’re not even being logical.”

I don’t care,I replied, my tone sharp

The Jeep crept along beside me as the rain continued to fall, the sound of the engine blending with the patter of raindrops

Stormi,Alex tried again, his voice softer this time, please. Just get in. You’re going to ruin your homework.”

I paused midstep, glancing down at my bag. The papers inside were definitely in danger of getting wet

Don’t be stubborn, carrot head,Elijah added, pulling the car slightly ahead of me before stopping. We’re not asking for much.”

I glared at the back of the Jeep, torn between my pride and my practicality. Finally, I sighed

Fine,I muttered, trudging toward the car. But only because I don’t want my homework to get wet.”

Isaiah smirked as he opened the passenger door for me, stepping out to let me climb in. Whatever you say, little mate.”

Don’t call me that,I snapped, sliding into the seat

He ignored me, climbing back into the car and closing the door. Alex and Austin twisted around from the back seat, their eyes bright with amusement

See?Alex said, leaning forward. That wasn’t so hard, was it?”

I shot him a withering glare, but he just grinned. The ride to school was silent, save for the occasional sounds of the windshield wipers and the rain tapping against the roof

I kept my gaze fixed on the window, refusing to look at any of them. But I could feel their eyes on me, the weight of their stares making my skin prickle

You’re welcome, by the way,Elijah said after a few minutes, breaking the silence

For what?I asked, not bothering to look at him

For saving your precious homework,he said, his tone teasing

I rolled my eyes. I didn’t ask for your help.”

No,Isaiah said, but you needed it.”

I clenched my jaw, refusing to dignify that with a response

Why are you all so annoying?I muttered under my breath

Part of our charm,Alex said with a grin

I ignored him, staring out the window as the school came into view

When the Jeep pulled into the parking lot, I wasted no time grabbing my bag and jumping out. I didn’t bother waiting for them as I made my way toward the building, eager to put as much distance between us as possible

Chapter Twenty Two

See you in class, carrot head

I didn’t turn around

Elijah called after me, his voice carrying over the sound of the rain

Inside, the halls were already bustling with students, and I felt their eyes on me as I made my way to my locker. The whispers started almost immediately, and I didn’t have to strain to hear them

Isn’t that Stormi?”

She’s their mate, right?”

Why is she always alone?”

I tuned them out, focusing on swapping out my books for the first class of the day
