The next day, I’m forced to come in again even though I don’t have a shift.

Or rather, I’m called in by Ethel, who tells me that Catelyn wants to talk with me. I know she wants to reinforce her point, but I understand it already. The burn on my back tends the message loud and clear. I won’t tell anyone, I’ll keep their
secret
It’s by evening when she calls me. The skies are dark when I reach the pack house. The Alpha has returned from his trip, so I doubt she can do anything with me without him or anyone up there hearing what’s happening
Lucky me.
I’m glad you understood; She says as I stand in her presence again.
After what I heard yesterday, after the harsh reality she made me endure, I cannot help but form a dread within myself each time I look at her or hear her.
“But there’s something else I need your anistance with this time. Her hand comes around my arm tightly.
Ezra isn’t here, which I’m glad for. We’re in the lounge room, and I know the Alpha is right across from us in his office with a couple of other males. If I scream, they’ll hear me–that’s if she does something to me.
“And if you help me in this matter, I’ll make sure that your name is cleared around here, and I won’t trouble you again.” She continues and then smiles at me. “Is that not what you want?”
“Yes. It is what I want.” I force myself to speak even when there’s no voice left in my throat.
“Come with me then.”
She leads me out of the room’s door. I follow her even when I don’t want to. We go down the spiral staircase and into the second floor, which is filled with male wolves. We go even further down, straight to the ground floor.
“Where–where are we going?” I say, my voice a whisper.
Just somewhere,” She glances back at me. “Don’t worry, I don’t intend to hurt you. Nothing to be scared off.”
Yet, there’s still a lot to be wary about.
We leave the pack house and go outside. The wind is cold, hitting against my face as the faint droplets of rain trickle down my arms. I glance at Catelyn again as she heads in a new direction–in the direction of the woods. Behind the pack house, past the training grounds and the gardens, there’s a cellar built underground that connects to the basement underneath the pack house.
From what I know, it’s empty, and no one really goes there. Sometimes, the Alpha tends to keep prisoners or rogues if caught. But these days, there’s no one down there.
No one at all.
1 slow down a little after realizing where I’m going, but Catelyn wants me to accompany her. And I do. When we reach the large entrance leading to it, Catelyn unlocks the chain from above and drags it off before pushing the doors open. It’s dark inside. Very dark.
A shiver runs through me. I hesitantly step inside while glancing at Catelyn repeatedly.

“Well, it’s just a small little thing” She forces me near the table and grabs something from there. “We need you to put this inside your dear Alpha’s morning tea

A vial.
A vial with something white inside it. It’s powder, some kind of powder.
“And just twenty minutes after that, we need you to give this. She takes another vial and brings it to my face.
It doesn’t has powder, it has some liquid.
1 furrow my brows, confused at what I’ve seen or what I’m seeing. I don’t understand. What is she planning on?
“Wh–what is it for?” I ask with hesitance in my tone.
“The first one is called Lupivora, which is a rare kind of herb found within the wilderness of the woods far north. It kills one wolf when taken in, leaving nothing but a hollow, wolfless human,” she then lifts the other vial in her other hand and continues, “This one, it’s called Mortalbane. It’s a poison of kinds, to kill someone within moments.”
Wait a minute,
I freeze.
Those herbs–and the poison.

What?
“See, you put the Lupivora inside a drink so that when the Alpha takes it, it becomes effective and-”
I cut her off, shaking my head, “I won’t do it”

“Excuse me?” Her hand covers my face and wraps around my chin tightly; she squints her eyes, making her words clear as I feel her nails dig into my flesh. “Say that again.”
