The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Hundred and Seven

The air shimmered where he once stood, and his voice echoed through the cavernsoft, yet chilling

Your journey continues, but bewarethe shadows listen.”

Then, just as quickly as he appeared, he was gone. A deep, rumbling sound filled the tunnel behind us, and before any of us could react, the passage collapsed into a wall of impenetrable darkness. Dust and small rocks rained down as the last echo of his warning

faded

I staggered back, coughing against the thick air. Wait, what?”

Alex cursed under his breath. Great. The spooky ghost guy vanishes, and so does our way back.”

Elijah stepped forward, running his palm along the rough stone where there had once been an open tunnel. His brow furrowed. There’s no way through,he muttered. Looks like we’re going forward whether we like it or not.”

Isaiah let out a sigh. Why is it never easy?”

A heavy silence settled over us, broken only by the faint drip of water somewhere in the distance. The only way out was ahead- deeper into the unknown parts of the cave. My gut twisted with unease. We had no idea what waited for us in the tunnels beyond

And thenthe whispers started

At first, it was just a faint hissing noise, almost like the rustling of dry leaves. But there were no leaves down here. The sound made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Then, as my eyes adjusted to the dim glow of Alex’s flames, I noticed the shadows along the walls begin to move

Not with the flickering of the fire. No.

They slithered

My breath hitched. Guys”

The shadows peeled away from the walls, stretching and twisting like living ink. Red eyes blinked open within the darkness, and long, clawed hands formed from the inky void. The cavern was filled with writhing creatures, barely distinguishable from the gloom

itself

Elijah tensed, stepping in front of me. What the hell are those?”

Isaiah’s voice was grim. Shadow remnants.”

Alex’s flames flared brighter. And let me guessthey’re not friendly?”

As if in answer, the shadows lunged

I barely had time to move before one lashed out at me. I stumbled back, heart pounding, but the tunnel was too narrow for me to shift into my wolf form. If I did, I’d get stuckleaving myself vulnerable

Stormi, stay behind us!Elijah ordered, already swinging at one of the creatures with his fist

Isaiah moved with precision, his movements fluid as he wove between the shadows, summoning weapons made of darkness to strike them down. His blades slashed through the creatures, but every time he destroyed one, another formed in its place, drawn from the lingering gloom

Austin took a step forward to Shield me just as a clawed hand lashed out from the darkness

Austin!”

The sharp slashes tore across his chest, dark fabric ripping as blood Blossomed across his skin. He let out a strangled gasp and stumbled, clutching the wound. Pain twisted his features

Something inside me snapped

No!”

The creatures swarmed closer, but before they could land another blow, Alex threw out his hands. A wave of fire erupted from his palms, scorching through the shadows. The creatures let out an unearthly screech, recoiling from the blaze

Isaiah’s eyes widened. Fire. It hurts them.”

Alex smirked, his flames flaring higher. Oh, you’re in trouble now, shadow freaks.”

With renewed determination, they fought back

Alex’s flames carved a path through the dark creatures, pushing them away from us. Isaiah and Elijah moved with practiced ease, cutting down anything that tried to slip past the fire. Their teamwork was seamless, every movement precise, every strike intentional

Meanwhile, I knelt beside Austin, pressing my hands against his chest, trying to stop the bleeding. His breathing was shallow, his skin pale from blood loss

The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Hundred and Seven

Austin, stay with me,I said, my voice tight with panic

He let out a weak chuckle. Don’t worry, babeI’ll live.”

I swallowed hard, my hands trembling as I pressed harder against the wound. No. No one else was getting hurt. I wouldn’t let it happen

I reached deep within myself, calling forth the magic that lurked in my bloodthe magic of the Silvermoon bloodline

A pale, silvery glow rippled from my skin, washing over the cavern in a soft, ethereal light. The shadows hissed, shrinking away from the radiance. The cavern walls trembled as the magic pulsed outward

For a moment, everything was still

Then, with a final burst of fire from Alex, the last of the shadow creatures vanished, melting back into the darkness

The cave fell silent

We stood there, breathing heavily, the lingering energy of the battle thick in the air. The only sound was our ragged breaths and the faint dripping of water

Isaiah ran a hand through his hair before turning toward the cave walls, his fingers brushing over faint carvings we hadn’t noticed before. His eyes narrowed as he traced the symbols. There’s something here.”

I helped Austin sit up, my heart still pounding. What does it say?”

Isaiah studied the inscription, his voice thoughtful as he read aloud

Where reflections lead, the truth hides beneath.”

Next to the inscription was a worn, ancient map, carved directly into the stone. Though the lines were faint, the image was cleara body of water, hidden deep within what appeared to be a sacred forest

Alex tilted his head. A mirror? A lake?”

Isaiah nodded. Looks like it.”

I pulled out my notebook, quickly sketched the map, and wrote down the inscription. My fingers still trembled from the rush of battle. There was something eerie about this place, something that made me feel like the shadows weren’t done with us yet

Elijah exhaled, stepping back from the wall. Well, at least we know where we’re going next.”

I glanced toward the tunnel ahead. It stretched into the darkness, winding further into the unknown. The weight of the encounter still sat heavily on my shoulders

Austin groaned, leaning against the wall. Can we at least catch our breath before we go running off again? Some of us were just stabbed by literal shadows.”

Alex smirked. “You’ll live. We all know you’re too stubborn to die.”

Austin rolled his eyes but didn’t argue

Isaiah turned to me. That magic you usedthat was different from before.he was right I have never tried to use my abilities in

human form I just guessed 1 chuld only do it in wolf form

I hesitated, then nodded. It feltstronger. Like the cave itself was amplifying it.”

Elijah frowned. That could mean trouble. If this place reacts to power, we might not be the only ones who can use it.”

A chill ran down my spine at the thought. The last thing we needed was an enemy who could turn this cave against us

I took a steadying breath, looking at the path ahead. We had our next clue, but the danger wasn’t over. If the shadows could manifest once, they could do it again

And a cave that could collapse on us at any moment was not a good place for a fight

Let’s get moving,I said finally, gripping my notebook tightly. The sooner we get out of here, the better.”

One by one, we stepped forward, leaving the remnants of the battle behind

But I couldn’t shake the feeling that somethingor someonewas still watching us from the darkness

And whatever it was, it wasn’t done with us yet
