“There’s a bug.”
Nolan’s words made Eliza’s eyes narrow sharply.
Her gaze returned to the Snow Lotus inside the wooden box.
Sure enough, hidden within the flower’s center was a tiny black bug. Nolan had trapped it under a coffee cup, preventing it from flying away or escaping.
“It’s this bug again,” Eliza murmured.
Nolan frowned at her words and looked at her. “You’ve seen this before?”
Eliza nodded. “When I first arrived, there was one on my seat. But I had it cleaned up.”
The stool, with the bug on it, was replaced.
Nolan’s expression turned icy.
Once might be a coincidence, but twice? He wasn’t buying it.
This banquet hall was no ordinary place. Even when unused, it was cleaned daily. There was no way so many bugs could appear here.
Yet today, they kept showing up one after another.
Nolan and Eliza exchanged a glance, their thoughts aligning. Eliza’s heart sank. “Could there be foreign infiltrators in the palace?”
“No matter who they are, I’ll deal with them today,” Nolan said ferociously.
Eliza glanced back at the grand hall. With so many people present, making a move now would surely cause chaos. If there really were foreign infiltrators here, the king, the Empress Dowager, and the court officials could all be in danger. Lowering her gaze, Eliza thought for a moment before saying to Nolan, “Your Highness, will you trust me this time?”
“Of course,” Nolan replied without a second thought.
Looking at him, Eliza whispered, “It’s not the right time to alarm those infiltrators. How about I take the lead and search for them first?”
Eliza released several tiny spiders from her pocket farm. These spiders, no bigger than a fingernail, were far smaller than the fist–sized venomous one she had used before. While their bites weren’t lethal, they were potent enough to paralyze a few enemies.
Nolan glanced at the small spiders. Though tiny, they were perfect for scouting out the enemies.
“Alright, I’ll leave it to you.”
The palace maid standing behind Eliza overheard their entire conversation.
Instinctively, she tried to move, intending to signal her counterparts.

She froze. After her instincts told her that something was amiss, a chill crept down her spine, and the icy sensation at the back of her head made her too terrified to move.
The spider silk had wrapped around her wrists, binding both hands tightly, while two more strands coiled around her neck and extended behind her head.
Clearly, a spider was possibly lurking just at the back of her head, its predatory gaze fixed on her every move.
Judging by how silently it had rendered her hands useless, this spider was undoubtedly venomous.
A drop of cold sweat slowly slid down the maid’s forehead.
Her terrified gaze locked onto the person seated before her.
She thought, ‘Isn’t this woman supposed to be the Holy Lady of Bortenland and a religious practitioner? Then why is she so
ruthless?‘
Despair clouded the palace maid’s face.
The venom from the spider silk coiled around her neck seeped into her throat, paralyzing her face. She couldn’t move a muscle, let alone signal her companions.

All she could do was watch helplessly as Eliza quietly unleashed a dozen more tiny spiders from beneath the table
The tiny spiders scattered like shadows, slipping into every corner of the grand hall without a sound.
It didn’t take long for them to map out the entire hall.
One, two, three… There were a total of eight foreign infiltrators.
Eliza relayed the information to Nolan. “They’re under control. We’ll deal with them after the party”
“Yeah, it’s all thanks to you this time,” Nolan replied with a smile.
“If you hadn’t acted so fast, that little bug might’ve gotten me, too.”
She had been careless, not considering the possibility of danger hidden within the Snow Lotus
