“Tina.” A shadowy figure appeared in an instant, landing beside Benedict.
Tina reached out to check his condition, then turned to Eliza and said bluntly, “He’s dying.”

Seeing a figure before him, he instinctively reached out to grab it. But Eliza, having anticipated this, quickly stepped back just in time.

He had been worried Eliza might slip away again, so he instinctively reached out to grab her, only to realize he’d grabbed the

Tina ignored his apology entirely, turning to stand behind Eliza. Her icy gaze locked onto him, as cold and lifeless as if she were staring at a corpse.
Tina’s piercing stare made him shift uncomfortably. Avoiding her gaze, he turned his attention to Eliza instead. “Eliza, I knew you wouldn’t have the heart to leave your brother behind,” Benedict said, his voice carrying a mix of hope and unease.
Eliza had indeed been planning to leave. But just now, she noticed something intriguing about Benedict. The familiar sense she couldn’t figure out earlier finally clicked into focus.
Keeping a deliberate distance between them, Eliza narrowed her eyes and studied him closely. “Mr. Stonor, were you aware you were standing at death’s door?”

Benedict’s heart sank even further. “Alright, duly noted.”
