Ross, who had insisted on tagging along with Nolan, was sitting outside, cracking his whip and complaining non–stop in a slightly aggrieved tone, “Do you not think the Black Flag soldiers are good enough to guard her?
“Why did you have to jump into action yourself? You’re the Prince Regent for crying out loud–how could you be doing something so… beneath you?”
Nolan inside the carriage was too lazy to respond to him.

“Serenity, come quickly, I’ve brought you something wonderful!”

Eliza stared at the gray, ugly butterfly inside the cage and asked, “Is this… a butterfly?”
Diana, who had been helping Eliza with feeding the poisonous insects, leaned over to look and was greeted by the unattractive sight.
She exchanged an uncomfortable glance with Nolan and thought, ‘Clearly, Nolan’s sense of aesthetics and emotional intelligence need some work.’
But Diana had misunderstood Nolan’s intention.
Because the focus of the butterfly Nolan brought wasn’t its appearance at all.
Nolan grinned, “It’s a bit ugly, but this little thing was something my people went through a lot of trouble to get.”
Smiling at Eliza, he added, “Serenity, why don’t you take a guess at what this is?”
Eliza, hearing his words, immediately realized the butterfly was far from ordinary.
Eliza asked, “Can we open the cage?”
The bamboo cage was tightly woven, with only small holes the size of a fingertip, so it wasn’t easy to see what was inside. Nolan opened the cage without hesitation, and the gray butterfly immediately fluttered out.
