“Si, have you discovered something?” Rikkert asked when he saw Korneel deep in thought.
Komeel frowned and spoke, “Rudie hasn’t returned.”
“Rudie?” Rikkert was taken aback, then quickly reacted. “How is that possible? Wasn’t he already controlled by your King Parasite? Did he escape?”
“He didn’t escape,” Korneel shook his head. “He disappeared.”
Both Rudie and the parasite inside him completely vanished from Vollult Town. Even with the King Parasite, Korneel couldn‘ I find any trace of Rudie or the parasite.
When Rikkert mentioned the disappearance of Emmitt in the ruined church, Korneel immediately thought of Rudie’s disappearance. Perhaps there was a connection between the two.
But he didn’t know yet, it seemed like only that woman could unravel the mystery.
Korneel said, “The people I sent to follow her are all dead. For now, it’s best if you don’t make any rash moves. When the time comes, I’ll take action myself.”

With that thought, Rikkert’s face showed a smug, satisfied expression.
“What are you so smug about?”
Suddenly, Korneel looked at him coldly and said, “You failed at the task I gave you, and now you have the nerve to gloat. Get out and accept your punishment immediately.”
Rikkert’s expression faltered, and he quickly scampered off, head down.
Korneel sat alone in the courtyard, looking towards the door, sipping his tea in silence. After a while, a smile crept onto his face.
“Indeed, I still prefer Bortenland,” Korneel murmured.
He enjoyed the customs of this place and, more so, the mysterious and dangerous woman here.
Korneel whispered, “So, are you really Diana?”

In Healing Hall, Eliza suddenly covered her mouth and nose, sneezing lightly. After rubbing her nose, she took her pulse.
Eliza thought, “Hmm, everything’s fine, healthy.”
After ruling out any illness, Eliza didn’t give the sneeze another thought. She handed the beggar over to Vaughn, asking him to wash him up and prepare some food for him.
She could have done it herself, but the beggar seemed terrified of tall, muscular men and only felt safe around older men. So, Eliza decided to let Vaughn take care of him.
She also gave Cara a large bag of silver.
Since they were staying at Healing Hall, she didn’t want to trouble Vaughn any more than necessary. With a new child to care for, food, lodging, and medical needs had to be covered.
Cara, a beautiful and generous young woman, didn’t hesitate to take the money and went off to arrange for their meals and lodging.
Particularly, Cara seemed to have noticed Eliza’s noble background and had made sure that the bedding and supplies for Eliza were of the finest quality.
Since entering Saint Grace Nunnery, Eliza had stopped caring about such things, but she still noticed Cara’s though: arrangements.
However, what surprised Eliza most was Cara’s extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs, which made Eliza feel a little
humbled.
“When I was little, I was abandoned at the door of Healing Hall, and it was my father who took me in, saved me with oatmeal and medicine, and raised me. Since then, I’ve always stayed by his side, learning about medicine and herbs. So

Eliza listened carefully, her gaze fixed on Cara, as if something had occurred to her.
After praising Cara, Cara happily left to help Vaughn again.
Once Cara was gone, Eliza turned and entered the pendant space.
Inside the pendant space, aside from her, only two living beings remained.
One was Emmitt, whose life was being sustained by Eliza’s magical energy and the magical water, and who couldn’t leave the space easily.
The other was the tall, muscular man she had captured earlier–the “little giant.”
Eliza first checked on Emmitt, feeding him a healing medicine and more magical water. Once satisfied with his condition, she walked slowly toward the pavilion.
The “little giant” was locked in a cage on the second floor.
He had been locked in there for a day and a night, and he hadn’t stopped struggling, his eyes red with rage.
No matter how hard he tried, the cage didn’t budge.
Even the iron bars didn’t bend.
After a day and night of struggling, the “little giant” had lost all hope of escaping.
He thought he would die in this cage, but suddenly, footsteps echoed from above.
The “little giant” jumped up, nearly hitting his head on the bars.
He grabbed the iron bars tightly, staring at Eliza outside the cage, his eyes burning with hatred.
Eliza, sensing his gaze, curiously asked, “Have you ever eaten a person?”
The “little giant” didn’t respond, merely glaring at her.
But the moment he saw what Eliza held in her hand, he instantly recoiled, crashing his massive body against the cage,
shaking it.
“No… no bugs, no! I don’t like bugs!”
Eliza narrowed her eyes. Seeing the “little giant’s” reaction confirmed her earlier suspicion.
This “little giant” had been controlled by Korneel using a parasite.
Realizing this, Eliza quickly put away the insects and said, “Don’t worry, they’re not parasites. They can’t control you. They’re just a bunch of ordinary bugs.”
