He had seriously underestimated Anthony.
Forget the half–truths–if anything, only about one–tenth of the story was likely true.
Anthony and Eliza–were they really siblings, or had he been misinformed?
This family feud seemed to go far beyond mere sibling rivalry. It was a conflict that felt as if it were a matter of life and death.
The moment Jefferson looked at Anthony, he knew he didn’t believe much of the story.
But that didn’t matter. Anthony had intentionally said it this way.
Jefferson had been in Woteria long enough to know certain things, so he was sure Nolan wouldn’t let him off easily.
This meant that sooner or later, these two would cross paths.
As Anthony had expected, after learning he was in Woteria, Jefferson invited him over with all the pomp and ceremony, but
it was clear his real purpose was to probe Nolan’s weaknesses and secrets.
But when Jefferson brought up the subject of Anthony, not Eliza, he knew exactly where Jefferson was aiming.
Seeking out Anthony was just for confirmation.
So, why not go along with it? Anthony was all too happy to oblige.
Thinking about Eliza, who was also in Wotería, a cold glint flickered in Anthony’s eyes.
He had been lazy to deal with her lately, being focused on finding medicine.
